NextGen is a group of dedicated individuals and professionals from ConstructConnect that are committed to inspiring the next generation of youth to consider and join the construction workforce. With a nationwide labor shortage and a frightening gap between the demand for workers and the number of qualified people searching for construction jobs, action must be taken to encourage students to enter this lucrative and diverse workforce.

ConstructConnect hosts a Charity Golf Scramble every year. The event raises money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Cincinnati. The scramble in 2024 was the biggest yet.

Jennifer Johnson, the Chief Product Officer at ConstructConnect, has had a busy fall. In September and October, she spoke at several events and conferences.

Calling this fall a tough and trying season for much of the southeastern United States would be an understatement. Hurricanes Helene and Milton caused many deaths, and many more people lost their homes and jobs.

Pride Month is a reminder for people to be proud of who they are and specifically for amplifying the voice of the LGBTQ+ community. One of the sentiments behind pride encourages us to validate the person we are, whether we share our unique identities with others or not. We spend a lot of time at work, so it’s crucial that our work environment is a place where we can show up and be supported so we can focus on the work, no matter our race, religion, gender, age, ability, etc.

This month we pause for celebration and recognition of Women’s History Month. One of the areas I’m most passionate about is the empowerment of women and women’s rights. I am not in this to passively watch; instead, I endeavor to lean in. I work to educate myself as often as I can. And, as many of you know, I am surrounded by three strong women at home who help me to continually understand the challenges women face every day—not just in the workplace.

ConstructConnect helped bring the traveling Evicted exhibit to Birmingham, Alabama, in partnership with a group led by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Birmingham Chapter.

The year 2020 has been nothing short of a pandemic-sized surprise. “Normal” has been redefined to include mask apparel, social distancing, and a rewrite on what public life looks like. Despite limitations, there are organizations that continue to cross the divide and care for their own. Such is true for AIA Detroit, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
