The 49-story tower includes 595 residential units
The first phase of Artwalk Towers started construction in Jersey City, N.J., beginning its journey to topping off at 560 feet, the project’s financing partner, Kennedy Wilson, announced last month.
Kushner Real Estate Group (KRE) is leading the luxury development. The developer obtained $175 million in financing from lender Kennedy Wilson. Phase one construction will total 607,328 square feet and include 595 residential units.
Designed by Handel Architects and landscaped by Melillo Bauer Carman, the first of the two planned Artwalk Towers is scheduled for completion in late 2027. The Jersey City Planning Board approved the project in 2022.

The developer plans to build two towers—one with 49 stories and the other with 55 stories—totaling 1,189 units.
The first phase tower will offer studio and one- to three-bedroom apartments. Residents will have access to amenities such as coworking spaces, a gym, and a rooftop swimming pool with a sundeck.
Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop proposed, and the city council granted, a 30-year tax abatement for the development, which will include a 100,000-square-foot art museum on the ground level of one of the towers.
Located at 808 Pavonia Ave., Artwalk Towers will be connected to a nearby PATH transit station. The development is part of the ongoing construction in the Journal Square area, which aims to revitalize it as Jersey City’s central business district.

The Journal Squared development, located near the planned Artwalk Towers commercial construction project, was completed in early November. The $900 million, 2.3 million square foot project features three towers and 1,800 units. It was also a collaboration between Handel Architects and Kushner and began construction in 2014.
