Las Vegas Resort-Arena Project Receives Zoning Commission Approval

A new hotel, casino, and arena project, known as LVXP, is a step closer to rising on the north end of the famous Las Vegas Strip, replacing the canceled All Net Resort project, News 3 reported this week.

The Clark County Zoning Commission granted use permits, design reviews, and development waivers for the LVXP project, which aims to transform the 27-acre vacant plot between the Sahara and Fontainebleau on Las Vegas Boulevard.

LVXP construction renderings feature three high-rise towers, 752 feet above the bustling Las Vegas Strip. The towers will boast a total of 2,605 hotel and condominium units, making them potentially the tallest occupied structures in Nevada. They will surpass the current record-holder, the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, which stands at 737 feet.

A highlight of the LVXP project will be the arena, which can accommodate up to 18,000 fans for live events. Designed with NBA standards, the arena aims to be a premier venue that will promote Las Vegas as an entertainment capital of the world.

Beyond the towers and the arena, LVXP will feature a range of amenities and attractions. These include a “Grand Theater” with a seating capacity of 6,000, various retail and dining options, recreational areas, a spa and health club, and parking. A construction start date was not announced.

Attorney Rory Reid, representing the developers, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “LVXP will breathe new life into the north end of the Strip, offering visitors and locals alike an unparalleled experience in entertainment, hospitality, and luxury living.”

LVXP announced it was working with AECOM and Steelman Partners for architectural and engineering services in May.

The location was once earmarked for the All Net Arena. However, in November 2023, the project was reported to have fallen through after failing to secure permit extensions from Clark County.
