Top 10 Construction Starts by Dollar Volume: April 2025

In the April Construction Economy Snapshot, ConstructConnect Chief Economist Michael Guckes reported the March 2025 volume of Total Nonresidential Construction Starts — the sum of Nonresidential Building and Civil Construction — was $55.3 billion, an increase of $19.6 billion, or 54.8%, when compared to February’s revised reading of $35.7 billion.

Guckes said, “March Nonresidential Starts activity rose to $55.3 billion, providing a much-needed boost to construction activity, which had been struggling since November 2024.

The list of the top ten Nonresidential Construction Starts by dollar volume reported includes Heavy, Industrial, Institutional, and Commercial construction categories.
