Suicide Prevention in the Construction Industry
Suicide is a serious problem in the construction industry. Construction has the 2nd highest rate of suicides among all occupations. The construction industry also employs a large population of veterans who have a suicide rate that's 1.5 times higher than nonveterans, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The National Safety Council has found that an estimated 19 percent of construction workers have substance use disorders (more than double the national average). Learn more Download infographic (pdf)
